Visualis3R Introduces Advanced Embossing & Debossing Visualization Module
- Leeds, UK; February 2026 — Khaos Technology has announced the release of the Visualis3R Embossing and Debossing module, a powerful new addition to the Visualis3R platform that enables designers, agencies, brands, and print providers to accurately visualize and plan tactile print effects before production begins.
Embossing and debossing remain among the most impactful embellishment techniques in modern print, adding both physical texture and visual depth to packaging and marketing materials. However, predicting how these effects will interact with different substrates, lighting conditions, and artwork has traditionally relied on experience, physical prototyping, or costly trial-and-error.
The new Visualis3R module removes this uncertainty by allowing users to preview embossed and debossed effects directly within a realistic digital environment. Designers can evaluate depth, surface interaction, and lighting response in real time, helping bridge the gap between creative intent and production outcome.
An accompanying educational video, now available in the Visualis3R Academy, guides users through the module’s workflow and capabilities. The tutorial introduces the fundamentals of embossing and debossing, outlines best practices for both digital and offset production environments, and demonstrates how Visualis3R enables clearer communication between designers, brands, and print teams.
By visualizing embellishments before press, users can:- Reduce production guesswork and revision cycles
- Improve collaboration between creative and production teams
- Minimize material waste and prototyping costs
- Accelerate time-to-market for embellished print applications
“Embossing and debossing are powerful creative tools, but historically they’ve been difficult to predict without physical samples,” said Richard Ainge, Founder & Chief Product Architect of Visualis3R. “Visualis3R allows users to explore these effects interactively, refining designs digitally before committing to production. The result is greater confidence, improved efficiency, and more consistent print outcomes.”

Khaos Technology Announces the Visualis3R Academy Video Showing Subtle Differences in White Ink and Toner
- Leeds, UK; February 2026 — Khaos Technology has released a new Visualis3R® Academy training video exploring the nuanced behavior of white ink and toner across a range of substrates, providing designers and print professionals with greater clarity when planning embellished output.
Now available within the Visualis3R Academy, the video demonstrates how variations in opacity, coverage, layering, and substrate colour can significantly influence the final printed result — factors that are often underestimated during the design phase.
White ink plays a critical role in both digital and offset production, particularly when printing on coloured or specialty materials. Through accurate visualization, Visualis3R enables users to determine how many hits of white are required to achieve the intended effect before a job reaches the press.
The training also clarifies commonly misunderstood terminology — including the distinction between “hits” and “repetitions” used by different press manufacturers — helping designers and printers communicate more effectively while reducing production uncertainty.
By translating complex press behavior into a clear visual environment, Visualis3R supports faster decision-making, minimizes material waste, and contributes to more predictable outcomes.
The video is part of a growing library of educational resources developed to strengthen production knowledge across the print community and ensure that advanced embellishment techniques can be implemented with confidence.

As print continues evolving toward more tactile, visually differentiated applications, education remains a critical component of successful adoption — and the Visualis3R Academy is designed to help the industry navigate that transition. -
Khaos Technology Announces the Visualis3R Academy
- Leeds, UK; February 2026 — Khaos Technology today announced the launch of the Visualis3R® Academy, a comprehensive educational resource created to support designers, agencies, brands, and printers in mastering the rapidly evolving field of print embellishment.
Developed as part of the broader Visualis3R platform ecosystem, the Academy addresses a longstanding industry challenge: while designers bring strong creative skills to their work, many lack access to practical production knowledge needed to collaborate efficiently with print providers and deliver predictable, high-quality results.
The Visualis3R Academy bridges this gap by providing structured, real-world training focused on production behavior, file preparation, and workflow considerations — helping teams move from design intent to manufactured output with greater confidence.
The first video in the Academy series highlights the Ink and Toner Trapping Module within Visualis3R, an advanced capability designed to simulate trapping behavior across both digital and offset environments when working with specialty inks and toners such as silver, white, neon, and fluorescent.
By accounting for how inks interact — as well as how different paper stocks influence final colour perception — Visualis3R enables users to identify potential issues before production begins, reducing waste while improving consistency.
The Visualis3R Academy will continue expanding with additional tutorials, demonstrations, and practical guidance aimed at strengthening collaboration across the print supply chain.
A short training video introducing the Ink and Toner Trapping Module is available at: www.v3r.studio/education/academy
As print applications increasingly shift toward higher-value output and enhanced visual impact, initiatives like the Visualis3R Academy reflect Khaos Technology’s ongoing commitment to supporting the industry through accessible, production-aware education. -
Khaos Technology Announces the Availability of EVE — A Free Embellishment Value Estimator for Printers Worldwide
- Leeds, UK; February 2026 — Khaos Technology today announced the immediate availability of EVE (Embellishment Value Estimator), a free web-based tool designed to help printers accurately calculate the cost and value of print embellishments. EVE is now live at (www.v3r.studio/eve) and is available to print professionals worldwide.
Created as a strategic companion to the forthcoming Visualis3R© platform, EVE was developed to bring greater clarity, predictability, and confidence to one of the most profitable — yet historically difficult to quantify — areas of print production.
With EVE, printers can model substrates alongside CMYK inks or toners, apply special colours, and layer enhancements such as foil, emboss, varnish, lamination, and raised effects. The estimator then instantly reveals how each embellishment influences unit cost and overall job value, enabling more informed production decisions and stronger customer conversations.
Unlike many modern software tools, EVE takes a deliberately transparent approach. It does not rely on artificial intelligence, does not recommend selling prices, and does not collect, store, analyse, or share user data. There are no learning models, no cloud profiling, and no dependence on industry averages. Printers simply enter their own costs, and EVE delivers clear, unbiased calculations — quickly and unambiguously.
Built for a global industry, EVE includes dynamic translation into 133 languages via an integrated language selector. The entire interface adapts in real time, ensuring production teams can work comfortably in their preferred language while maintaining complete workflow clarity.
Key Features
• Available Now — and Free: EVE is live and ready to use at no cost.
• Designed for Visualis3R: Working alongside Visualis3R, EVE helps printers understand the real financial impact of embellishments during planning and production.
• Global Accessibility: Instant translation into 133 languages makes EVE immediately usable across international print environments.
EVE addresses a longstanding challenge within print: accurately forecasting embellishment costs before a job reaches the press. By combining practical cost modelling with global accessibility, the platform empowers printers, converters, and brands to approach embellishment with greater strategic intent.
As the print industry continues shifting toward higher-value applications and differentiated output, tools like EVE represent an important step toward replacing uncertainty with measurable insight.
