EVE Embellishment Value Estimator

EVE is a free web-based print embellishment cost and value estimator built for commercial printers,
packaging converters, label printers, and trade finishers. Model substrate cost per sheet or repeat,
CMYK click costs, special colour stations, and multi-hit white ink, metallic ink, neon ink, clear ink,
and spot colours. Calculate production uplift for digital foiling, hot foiling, embossing, debossing,
spot UV varnish, tactile 3D varnish, lamination, coating, Scodix, Duplo, and other print enhancement
processes. Designed as a companion to Visualis3R (v3r) for explaining the value impact of embellishments.

Includes units per sheet, waste allowance, setup cost, passes, coverage multipliers, cost per piece,
job totals, and printable shareable summaries. Not a quoting system and not a replacement for MIS.

Render the extraordinary

EVE — Embellishment Value Estimator

Free web-based companion for printers who know their costs.

Model substrate + CMYK, add special colors with hits, and stack treatments like foil, emboss, varnish, lamination, Scodix/Duplo — then instantly see how it changes the job, the unit cost, and the value story.

EVE does not use AI, does not suggest what you should charge, and does not collect, store, analyse, or share your data. There are no learning models, no cloud profiling, and no “industry averages” influencing the numbers. You enter your costs, and EVE simply does the maths — transparently, locally, and on your terms.

Every workflow is different. If you have suggestions, edge cases, or requirements that aren’t fully covered, we’d genuinely like to hear about them. Your feedback helps us refine EVE so it better reflects how real jobs are produced.

Disclaimer
EVE provides indicative modelling only. Results are estimates intended to support value conversations — not final quotes.
Actual costs and sell prices vary by press, substrate, coverage, makeready, yield, run length, finishing, operator time, supplier pricing, and production conditions. Your MIS, contracts, and internal costing rules always take precedence.

Visualis3R calculates waste using a stepped (stage-by-stage) model. Instead of adding all waste together, a small amount of waste is applied at each production stage — which is why the total isn’t a simple percentage.

Each production stage adds waste only to what remains from the previous stage — like a waterfall through the workflow. That’s why 2% + 4% + 6% does not equal 12%.

Simple example (1,000 sheets)

  • Print waste (2%) → 20 sheets lost → 980 remain
  • Lamination waste (4%) → 39 sheets lost → 941 remain
  • Embellishment waste (6%) → 56 sheets lost → 885 remain

Result: 115 sheets lost in total. This works out as an effective total waste of 13.6%, not 12%, because each percentage is applied to a smaller quantity.

You don’t lose everything at once — you lose a little at each stage.
